CSSF Warnings List (from 1 Jan 2022)

Caution tape for use on CSSF Warnings blogThe CSSF regularly provides CSSF warnings to the public on fake businesses, hoaxes, fraudulent claims by companies, etc. These warnings are available on the CSSF website and by e-mail. 

We advise all that have interest in the Luxembourg financial sector to subscribe to the CSSF newsletters. You will not only be updated on CSSF Warnings but on all CSSF news including CSSF circulars, upcoming legislation and specific sanctions. See ‘External links’ below for a link to the CSSF website where you can subscribe to the newsletter.

We received request for a summary of the warnings from several clients. In some instances the CSSF is also only providing the warnings in French.

Therefore we decided to add this CSSF Warnings List to our Blogs for easy reference and in English.

22/Nov/22 N: Tiger Trade Warns the public of unknown persons presenting themselves in blogs under the name “Tiger Trade” and misusing the name of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg S.A. These persons offer investment and trading services, pretending to open the trading accounts with the above-mentioned bank. The legitimate entity Banque Internationale à Luxembourg S.A. is not related to the above-mentioned blogs and this warning. Link
18/Nov/22 W: https://www.uncintl[dot]com/ Warns the public of the website https://www.uncintl[dot]com where unknown persons invite potential investors to connect to a platform, by misusing the name and logo of the bank UniCredit International Bank (Luxembourg) S.A. The legitimate entity UniCredit International Bank (Luxembourg) S.A. is not related in any way to website mentioned in this warning. Link
16/Nov/22 N: Orea Capital S.A. Warns the public of unknown persons misusing the name of the investment firm Orea Capital S.A., by unsolicited contacting parties to offer investment services, in particular savings accounts with high interest rates. The legitimate investment firm Orea Capital S.A., authorised and subject to supervision of the CSSF, is not related in any way to this warning. Link
16/Nov/22 E: support@commission-financier[dot]online Warns the public of unknown persons who abuse the name and the logo of the CSSF by sending documents called “Customer notification” via the email address format support@commission-financier[dot]online. In doing so, they pretend to be established at “283, route d’Arlon, L-4370 Luxembourg” and request the payment of taxes in order to unblock fund transactions. The CSSF only uses the address format @cssf.lu for its email communications. Link

They send emails with the address format: firstname.surname@3investments[dot]fr. The legitimate Luxembourg company 3I INVESTMENTS (LUXEMBOURG) S.A., an authorized alternative investment fund manager, is not related to the persons using the email address mentioned in this warning. They fraudulently use the name of the CSSF by pretending that the invested funds are blocked by the CSSF which would require payment of additional fees to unblock these. In doing so, they misuse the name and address of the Luxembourg company A&T Capital S.A. There are still a lot of fraudulent websites / parties out there. The CSSF does well to keep the public informed on these parties. Always be critical if you are contacted out of the blue.
